Collingwood Coach Updates on Pendlebury's Injury Status
Collingwood coach Craig McRae has indicated that the team is awaiting scan results to determine if veteran player Scott Pendlebury will be fit for the upcoming Wildcard Round match. Pendlebury left Friday's game early due to a knee injury, raising concerns about his availability for next weekend's fixture.
During a post-match press conference, McRae noted that playing Pendlebury, who has made 442 appearances, could be risky. He mentioned that Pendlebury has experienced tightness in the back of his knee, potentially related to his hamstring, but described the issue as minor pending the scan results.
In addition to Pendlebury, halfback flanker Dan Houston sustained a finger injury during the team's recent loss to the Lions, but McRae expects him to recover in time for the final. Other players, including Isaac Quaynor, Patrick Lipinski, and Brayden Maynard, are also under consideration for return, with their status to be evaluated later in the week.
