Collingwood Delists Six Players Following Season Conclusion
Collingwood Football Club has announced the delisting of six players, including Joel Cochran, Wil Parker, Mitch Podhajski, Jakob Ryan, Iliro Smit, and Lachie Sullivan, as they will not receive contracts for the 2027 season.
This decision follows the team's disappointing exit from the finals after a loss to the Western Bulldogs in the Wildcard Round. Additionally, Steele Sidebottom is set to retire, while Scott Pendlebury will move to Gold Coast as an unrestricted free agent.
The club's general manager of list and talent strategy, Justin Leppitsch, expressed gratitude to the departing players for their contributions to the club's AFL and VFL programs. Sullivan, who was selected through the SSP after the club's premiership win in 2023, played 26 games and scored 10 goals. Parker, a former cricketer, played 14 matches, while Ryan, Podhajski, Cochran, and Smit were unable to make significant impacts on the field.
