Collision Between Estre and Aitken Ends Race at Road America

During the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America, a collision between drivers Kevin Estre and Jack Aitken occurred in the final minutes of the race. The incident took place with just over ten minutes remaining as both drivers battled for second place.

Estre, driving the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963, and Aitken in the #31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R made contact while entering Turn 1 on the last restart, causing both cars to slide into the barriers and ending their races prematurely. The crash led to a full-course caution, allowing Filipe Albuquerque to secure victory in the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac.

Following the incident, Estre and Aitken were classified in eighth and ninth places, respectively, although the results remain unofficial pending a review by IMSA officials. The crash also impacted Aitken's championship lead, which has been reduced to 108 points with only two races left in the season. Both drivers expressed their views on the incident, with Estre attributing it to hard racing, while Aitken criticized the aggressive driving of others on the track.
