Colton Herta Falls Short of Superlicence Points
Colton Herta is currently unable to obtain his superlicence due to a points discrepancy. To qualify, a driver must accumulate 40 points, but Herta only has 38 after a mix-up was discovered upon his arrival in Mexico.
Initially, it was believed that Herta had 39 points based on his previous IndyCar championship finishes, but it was later confirmed that he fell short. To meet the requirements, he must complete an additional 100 kilometers in Brazil next weekend.
Herta's attempts to gain points through his Formula 2 season have not been successful, as he has not finished in the top ten. His participation in FP1 sessions this year has included events in Barcelona, Budapest, Monza, and Austin, but he did not complete the necessary mileage in Italy to earn points.
