Colton Herta Withdraws from Madring F2 Races Following Crash

Colton Herta has pulled out of both races at the Madring Formula 2 round after a crash during qualifying on Friday at the new Madrid track.

The Hitech driver lost control of his car in Turn 19, resulting in damage to multiple sections of the vehicle after hitting both walls. Following the incident, Herta withdrew from the races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, citing feelings of unwellness.

This season has been challenging for Herta, who has only qualified in the top 10 once in 11 rounds and has accumulated 26 points, with a significant portion earned in the early part of the season. His teammate, Ritomo Miyata, achieved his first F2 victory during this event, while Ugo Ugochukwu secured the 2026 F3 title earlier on Sunday.
