Colts Coach Supports QB Daniel Jones Despite Struggles
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones received support from head coach Shane Steichen after a disappointing performance in a 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
In the game, Jones completed 59.1% of his passes for 108 yards and threw an interception that halted the Colts' comeback efforts, resulting in a passer rating of 52.8. This marked the seventh time this season he has failed to achieve a rating above 90.0.
Steichen stated that he has not considered changing quarterbacks, emphasizing his faith in Jones. The Colts managed to rush for 154 yards, but Jones contributed only 13 yards on the ground and was sacked four times. Jones acknowledged his interception as a poor decision and noted that Steichen's backing is significant to him. This season, Jones has a completion percentage of 59.6%, which is a career low, and has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns.
