Colts Face Criticism Over Daniel Jones Contract After Loss to Titans
Quarterback Daniel Jones, who suffered a torn Achilles in December 2025, signed a two-year, $88 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. However, his recent performance has drawn criticism following a 26-20 defeat to the Tennessee Titans, a team that had not won a game prior to this matchup.
In the loss, Jones completed 22 of 42 passes, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions, resulting in a low QBR of 20.4. This marked the fourth time in six games that his QBR fell below 35. Despite his struggles, Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that Jones would start in the upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Colts' management is under pressure, with speculation that both Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard could be at risk of losing their jobs if the team fails to make the playoffs. Following the loss, the Colts announced that Ballard had been relieved of his duties, raising concerns about Steichen's future as well.
