Colts GM Clarifies Alec Pierce's PRP Injection Status
On Tuesday, Colts General Manager Chris Ballard addressed the status of receiver Alec Pierce, stating that he did not receive a second platelet-rich plasma injection for his ankle injury. This clarification came after initial reports suggested otherwise.
Ballard explained that Pierce had a PRP injection at the end of the previous season in January to alleviate soreness, which is a common procedure. Following that, Pierce underwent surgery in March, but Ballard emphasized that there was no second injection.
The Colts are preparing for the upcoming regular season, and the current plan is for Pierce to be ready by then. He was seen attending a joint practice with the Patriots in Foxborough, where he was working with a trainer on the sidelines.
