Colts Less Likely to Trade Jonathan Taylor Amid Significant Haul Requirement
The Indianapolis Colts have shifted their focus to star running back Jonathan Taylor following the trades of veteran guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Reports indicate that the Colts are currently less likely to trade Taylor, with a significant haul needed to consider parting ways with him.
According to Tony Pauline, the Colts are seeking a first-round pick in exchange for Taylor. Colts head coach Shane Steichen noted that Taylor has not requested a trade, and owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon expressed a desire to retain the running back. However, the recent trades could lead the Colts to reconsider if they receive an enticing offer.
Teams such as the Packers, Seahawks, and Broncos have shown interest in Taylor should the Colts decide to entertain trade discussions. Taylor, a former second-round pick from Wisconsin, is in the final year of his contract, which includes a recent two-year extension worth $44 million.
