Colts Trade Quenton Nelson to Seahawks for Draft Picks
Quenton Nelson, an eight-time Pro Bowl guard, has been traded from the Indianapolis Colts to the Seattle Seahawks. This decision comes after the Colts agreed to send Nelson, who is in the final year of his contract, to Seattle in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick.
The trade was finalized shortly after the Colts' owner fired former general manager Chris Ballard. The Colts communicated openly with Nelson about the trade process, considering his preferences, with Seattle being a favored destination. Other teams, including the Green Bay Packers, also expressed interest, but the Seahawks presented the most appealing offer.
This trade may signal a broader shift for the Colts, as they also agreed to trade defensive tackle DeForest Buckner later the same day. Nelson will join the Seahawks, who are looking to enhance their offensive line, ahead of their upcoming game against the Chicago Bears.
