Commanders Confirm Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Three Others Out Against 49ers
The Washington Commanders have announced that running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt will not participate in the away game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a groin injury. He did not practice throughout the week and was officially ruled out on Saturday.
In addition to Croskey-Merritt, quarterback Marcus Mariota, edge rusher Javontae Jean-Baptiste, and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu have also been ruled out for the game in Santa Clara, California. Coach Dan Quinn noted that Croskey-Merritt has reinjured the same groin he hurt earlier in the season.
Croskey-Merritt currently leads the team with 239 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler are expected to handle running back responsibilities, although both have faced limitations in practice. Jeremy McNichols, who was on injured reserve, may also be activated for the game. Meanwhile, wide receiver Stefon Diggs returned to practice after missing the previous game, and cornerback Trey Amos could also make his return.
