Commanders Promote David Blough to Enhance Jayden Daniels' Performance

The Washington Commanders made a significant change in their coaching staff by promoting David Blough from assistant quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator, replacing Kliff Kingsbury.

Head coach Dan Quinn and others believe Blough can assist Jayden Daniels in reaching his potential as a quarterback. Daniels, who won the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2024, faced physical challenges that limited him to seven starts last season due to an aggravated elbow injury. Despite these setbacks, there are indications that Daniels is ready to take on more responsibilities on the field.

Additionally, the Commanders have signed free agent Stefon Diggs, who is expected to form a strong receiving duo with Terry McLaurin. Diggs has already begun to establish himself as a leader within the team. The Commanders hope to overcome the loss of starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil and meet the expectations set for them last year, provided Daniels remains healthy.
