Commanders Release Veteran OT Nicholas Petit-Frere
The Washington Commanders are parting ways with offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere as of Saturday, in advance of the upcoming roster cuts deadline.
Petit-Frere, who is 26 years old, previously played as a two-year starter at Ohio State, where he received first-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten accolades in 2021, along with second-team All-Big Ten honors in his junior year. He was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the 69th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Before joining the Commanders, Petit-Frere was in the final year of a four-year contract worth $5,455,740, which included a signing bonus of $1,147,811. He had been released by the Titans prior to last year's draft and had a brief period with the San Francisco 49ers. In the 2024 season, he participated in 15 games for the Titans, starting 10 of them at right tackle.
