Commanders to Play Without Jacory Croskey-Merritt Against 49ers
The Commanders will be missing their top running back, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, for the game against the 49ers on Monday night.
Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed on Saturday that Croskey-Merritt has been ruled out due to a groin injury that prevented him from participating in practice throughout the week. This injury is a recurrence of a previous issue he faced during the summer.
In addition to Croskey-Merritt, the Commanders are managing several other injuries within their backfield, including Rachaad White with a shoulder injury and Austin Ekeler with a chest injury, although both have been practicing. The team may also consider activating Jeremy McNichols from injured reserve. Other players, including linebacker Javontae Jean-Baptiste and quarterback Marcus Mariota, will also be unavailable for the game.
