Como Finalizes £31m Deal for Chelsea Defender Trevoh Chalobah

Como has secured a deal exceeding £30m to acquire Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. The 27-year-old is anticipated to sign a long-term contract and assume a leadership position under manager Cesc Fabregas at the Italian club.

Chelsea will receive an initial payment of £25.7m, with an additional £5.1m contingent on performance-related add-ons. This agreement aligns closely with Chelsea's asking price after extensive negotiations that began in early June, which also attracted interest from Inter Milan.

Chalobah departs Chelsea after nearly two decades, having joined the club as a child. This transfer is part of Chelsea's strategy to streamline their squad under new manager Xabi Alonso, who has already added defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace for £52m.
