Como Secures Nico Paz's Permanent Signing from Real Madrid
Como has permanently signed Nico Paz from Real Madrid for approximately €60 million, marking a record transfer fee for the Italian club. This move comes after Como achieved their first-ever qualification for the UEFA Champions League at the end of the 2025-2026 Serie A season.
The relationship between Como and Real Madrid has facilitated this transfer. Paz initially joined Como in 2024 for $6 million, with Real Madrid retaining control through a sell-on clause and the right to re-sign him for a set fee over three years. Despite a lucrative offer from Tottenham in 2025, both clubs opted to keep Paz at Como.
Paz's decision to remain with Como was influenced by his desire for regular playing time, especially after Real Madrid's signing of Bernardo Silva. Como's ambitious project, led by president Mirwan Suwarso, aims to diversify revenue streams beyond traditional methods. Additionally, coach Cesc Fabregas has fostered a strong relationship with Paz, making Como an appealing choice for the player.
