Concerns Raised Over Safety After Hull City Player Crashes
Residents living on Mill House Woods Lane in Cottingham, near Hull City's training ground, have voiced safety concerns after two players crashed their vehicles on the same street within a short period.
The first incident involved footballer Sorba Thomas, whose Land Rover overturned on September 11. Less than three weeks later, on October 1, midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath crashed a black Mercedes, which ended up on its side. Fortunately, both players were unharmed in the accidents.
Local residents have criticized the driving behavior of some players, noting issues with speed and vehicles mounting the pavement. Cottingham North councillor Phillip Redshaw highlighted the timing of the second crash, which occurred shortly before and after parents were walking their children to school. He has requested a safety review of the road, suggesting a 20mph speed limit and improved signage to enhance safety for pedestrians.
