Connor Hellebuyck Impresses in Devils Debut Against Stars
Connor Hellebuyck, previously with the Winnipeg Jets, debuted for the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars.
The 33-year-old goaltender, who was traded to New Jersey on October 23, quickly made an impact, stopping all six shots he faced in the first period as the Devils led 1-0.
In the second period, the Devils scored two additional goals, but Hellebuyck's bid for a shutout was interrupted by a deflected goal from Stars center Justin Hryckowian. However, Luke Hughes responded with a goal shortly after, maintaining the Devils' lead at 4-1. Hellebuyck finished the game with a .941 save percentage, making 17 saves on 18 shots, as the Devils secured a 5-1 win.
