
Connor Zilisch to Drive No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports Starting in 2028
Connor Zilisch has officially signed a multiyear contract with Hendrick Motorsports to take the wheel of the No. 48 Chevrolet starting in 2028. The announcement was made on Monday in Concord, North Carolina.
The 20-year-old rookie, currently racing for Trackhouse Racing, will succeed Alex Bowman, who plans to step away from full-time racing after the 2027 season. Zilisch, who is currently ranked 34th in the Cup Series standings, has recorded eight DNFs this season.
Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick praised Zilisch's exceptional talent and character, emphasizing the importance of bringing such a gifted racer into the organization. Zilisch expressed his excitement about joining a team that represents a high standard in the sport. Ally will continue as the primary sponsor of the No. 48 Chevrolet, a role it has held since 2019.
