Conor McGregor Draws Inspiration from UFC Legends During ACL Recovery
Conor McGregor is currently recovering from his second ACL reconstruction, drawing motivation from two UFC Hall of Famers. The Irish fighter underwent surgery on his left knee after sustaining the injury in the first round of his UFC 329 match against Max Holloway in Las Vegas.
McGregor previously tore a knee ligament during an earlier fight with Holloway but managed to continue and win by decision. This recent injury, however, led to an immediate end to the bout. In a social media video, he highlighted Georges St-Pierre and Dominick Cruz as examples of fighters who successfully returned from multiple ACL injuries.
He also mentioned NFL players Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson as additional sources of inspiration. McGregor has referred to his final UFC fight as the 'Last Dance' and indicated that he is willing to delay his planned return, originally set for April 2027, to pursue a trilogy fight with Holloway.
