Conor McGregor has announced his plans to make his debut in Bareknuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) as his UFC contract approaches its expiration in April 2027. This announcement follows a disappointing fight against Max Holloway at UFC 329, where an ACL tear led to a stoppage just 69 seconds into the match.

McGregor, who co-owns BKFC, expressed his excitement for the promotion during an Instagram live session, stating that he has long been interested in bare-knuckle fighting. He previously indicated that he would have participated in BKFC earlier if not for his UFC obligations. His recovery from a torn ACL and meniscus raises questions about his readiness for competition in the BKFC.

David Feldman, the founder of BKFC and McGregor's business partner, has shown optimism regarding McGregor's potential transition to bare-knuckle fighting after his UFC tenure. The possibility of matchups against notable fighters like Nate Diaz could enhance the appeal of his BKFC debut.
