Cooper Flagg to Be Reevaluated After Mild Shoulder Sprain
Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg sustained a mild left shoulder sprain during a game on Friday against Indiana. Following the injury, he underwent an MRI, which confirmed the sprain, as announced by the team.
Flagg will not participate in Saturday's home opener against San Antonio and is scheduled for reevaluation next week. While he is expected to miss several games, the injury is not considered severe. The Mavericks have additional players on the injury report, with six either ruled out or doubtful for Saturday's game.
Flagg, the first overall pick in the 2025 draft, had a standout rookie season, earning the Rookie of the Year award after averaging 21.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. In the current season, he has averaged 23.0 points and 5.0 rebounds over two games.
