Copa del Rey Matches Suspended Following Train Crash in Spain
In response to a tragic train accident near Madrid that claimed the lives of more than 30 individuals, all 24 matches of the Spanish Copa del Rey set for Wednesday have been suspended. The decision was made by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) as a gesture of respect for the victims.
The collision involved over 500 passengers on board the trains in Toledo. Among the teams scheduled to play were Levante, Alaves, Valencia, Celta Vigo, and Real Betis, while major clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona will enter the tournament later.
Barcelona and Real Madrid both expressed their condolences and support for the victims and their families. The RFEF has not yet announced a revised schedule for the postponed matches, although Thursday's games are still set to proceed as planned.
