Corey Seager Shines After Injury Return, Boosts Rangers' Playoff Hopes
Corey Seager has made a notable comeback for the Texas Rangers following his activation from the injured list on July 17. Since his return, the five-time All-Star shortstop has achieved a .296/.379/.481 batting line, including 12 extra-base hits and a 148 OPS+.
This resurgence comes after a challenging first half of the season, during which Seager struggled with lower back issues and concussion symptoms, resulting in a disappointing .182/.292/.374 performance before his injury. The Rangers are currently in a competitive AL Wild Card race, just half a game behind the final postseason spot after a recent 6-0 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays.
In that game, Seager contributed two RBIs and hit his 14th home run of the season, marking a significant achievement against Rays pitcher Shane McClanahan. Since August 8, Seager has recorded 29 total bases against left-handed pitchers, tying him for the most in the majors. With the postseason approaching, the Rangers are optimistic that Seager's return to form will enhance their lineup as they aim for a playoff berth.
