Corey Seager Undergoes Elbow Surgery
Corey Seager, the shortstop for the Texas Rangers, recently had surgery on his right elbow due to a bone spur. The procedure took place on Tuesday, as confirmed by multiple sources, including an Instagram post from Seager's wife.
Seager had been managing the elbow issue for several months, although he did not miss any games specifically for this injury. He was active for the last two months of the regular season, achieving a batting average of .269 with 10 home runs after returning from the injured list in late July.
In contrast, third baseman Josh Jung, who suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right hand, is not expected to undergo surgery. Jung had a strong season with an .827 OPS over 104 games, despite previous injuries. Additionally, catcher Danny Jansen had a bone growth removed from his hand but is also expected to be ready for Spring Training in 2027.
