Cowboys Backup Quarterback Race Remains Competitive Ahead of Preseason Finale
The Dallas Cowboys are still undecided on their backup quarterback as the preseason finale approaches.
In their first preseason game, Sam Howell started while Joe Milton took over in the second half. The two quarterbacks switched roles in the game against the Cardinals last Saturday. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that both players have shown strong performances, with Howell slightly ahead in the competition.
Schottenheimer indicated that while Howell started against Seattle, Milton has also delivered impressive outings. The Cowboys aim to avoid using either quarterback significantly during the regular season, but past experiences suggest that may not be feasible. This ongoing competition will be crucial as the team prepares for the roster cut on August 30.
