Cowboys Executive Open to Selling Team Equity
Stephen Jones, an executive with the Dallas Cowboys, has stated that the team is open to the possibility of selling a minority stake, although they have not done so yet. He mentioned that while they would not rule it out, they would be selective about potential partners.
Jones highlighted that the NFL has allowed for private equity involvement and minority partners, which he believes could strengthen the league. He noted that the valuation for a 10 percent stake could exceed $1.5 billion, but selling equity would mean sharing future profits with the partner.
Despite the potential financial benefits, Jones pointed out that if the Cowboys do not require additional funds, there may be little incentive to sell any equity. Retaining full ownership allows them to keep all profits, and the overall value of the team is likely higher when control remains intact.
