Cowboys Finalize 53-Man Roster with Key Cuts
The Dallas Cowboys have finalized their initial 53-player roster, which includes only two tailbacks. In a series of 39 roster moves, the team waived running backs Jayden Blue, Israel Abanikanda, Jashaun Corbin, and Phil Mafah.
This leaves Javonte Williams and Malik Davis as the only running backs, alongside fullback Hunter Luepke. Among the notable cuts was outside linebacker Sam Williams, a second-round draft pick from 2022.
The Cowboys also announced the release of several other players, including linebacker Justin Barron, cornerbacks Trikweze Bridges and Josh Butler, and tight end DJ Rogers, who was waived due to an injury designation. Additionally, linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore were placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.
