Cowboys Part Ways with WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling
The Dallas Cowboys have announced the release of wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, as reported by multiple sources.
Valdes-Scantling, who is 31 years old, joined the Cowboys on a one-year contract in April. The team has a strong roster of wide receivers, including CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy, leading to tough decisions regarding the depth chart.
Last season, Valdes-Scantling played for both the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, participating in five games with each team. He recorded four receptions for 40 yards with the 49ers and ten catches for 80 yards and one touchdown while with the Steelers. Throughout his career, he has made 219 receptions for a total of 3,686 yards and 21 touchdowns since being drafted in the fifth round in 2018.
