Cowboys Sign Tyler Goodson from Falcons' Practice Squad
The Dallas Cowboys have signed running back Tyler Goodson from the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad due to Malik Davis' recent hip injury and subsequent surgery.
Davis was carted off during practice last Friday, impacting the Cowboys' backfield depth, especially after the team had previously released Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah. With Davis sidelined, the Cowboys are looking to bolster their roster behind starter Javonte Williams, who had 12 carries and five receptions in the first week of the season.
Goodson, 25, has played in 33 regular-season games but has not had a significant workload in terms of carries. His addition aims to provide depth as the Cowboys seek to improve after a Week 1 loss where they managed only 69 rushing yards. The Falcons may need to find a replacement for Goodson on their practice squad in the coming days.
