Craig Bellamy Remains Committed to Wales After Burnley Talks

Craig Bellamy, appointed as Wales head coach in July 2024, has reaffirmed his commitment to the national team after turning down an approach from Burnley. The Championship club sought to replace Scott Parker following their relegation from the Premier League, and Bellamy was granted permission to discuss the role.

Despite finding the offer flattering, Bellamy decided to remain with Wales, expressing comfort in his choice. He indicated that his focus is on leading Wales at the home European Championships in 2028, stating that he made a conscious decision to stay in his current role.

As he prepares for upcoming Nations League matches against Portugal, Denmark, and Norway, Bellamy acknowledged the challenges ahead, particularly with injuries affecting his squad. He is optimistic about working with a new coaching team that includes former players Ashley Williams and Alan Sheehan.
