Cris Carter Advocates for Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy Amid Quarterback Changes

Cris Carter, a Hall of Fame receiver, has voiced his opposition to the idea of moving on from McCarthy, citing financial reasons. He noted that McCarthy's current contract, which includes a four-year, fully guaranteed deal, makes it illogical to release him at this time. Carter emphasized that cutting or trading McCarthy would incur a higher cost than retaining him, as it would leave the Vikings with significant dead money. Both quarterbacks are expected to participate in the preseason opener against the New York Giants.
