Cristiano Ronaldo Achieves Milestone in Soccer Longevity
Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved a significant milestone in soccer longevity at the age of 41, marking the start of his 25th consecutive top-flight season. The Al-Nassr forward scored his first goal of the 2026-27 Saudi Pro League season in a 4-0 victory against Al-Riyadh after coming off the bench.
This goal increased his career total to 977, bringing him closer to the 1,000-goal mark. Ronaldo's achievement places him alongside legends Paolo Maldini and Francesco Totti, who also reached 25 consecutive seasons in top-flight soccer, but he stands out as the only player to have scored in every one of those seasons.
Ronaldo's career has spanned multiple leagues and clubs, including Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al-Nassr, showcasing his adaptability and scoring consistency. Unlike Maldini and Totti, who excelled in defensive and creative roles respectively, Ronaldo has maintained his status as a leading attacking player well into his 40s, defying the typical decline seen in many forwards.
