Cristiano Ronaldo Provisionally Suspended by Portugal After Walkout
Cristiano Ronaldo has been provisionally suspended by the Portuguese Football Federation after leaving the national team due to a disagreement with manager Jorge Jesus. The incident occurred after Ronaldo was not used as a substitute in a 2-1 victory against Norway on September 27.
The 41-year-old forward accused Jesus of breaching their agreement regarding his playing time and subsequently issued a lengthy statement detailing his grievances. Following this, the Portuguese Football Federation initiated disciplinary proceedings against him on October 9, which included a non-automatic preventive suspension.
Ronaldo missed Portugal's subsequent matches, which were victories over Denmark and Norway, maintaining the team's top position in Group A4. Despite the tension, Jesus indicated that Ronaldo could return to the national team if he chooses to do so. Ronaldo has since returned to his club Al Nassr, where he scored in his first match after the incident.
