Shark Park, which has a capacity of 15,000, has been deemed unsuitable for use in the second or third weeks of the finals, despite hosting matches in the first week in previous years. The NRL has not confirmed venues and has indicated that it retains the discretion to decide where finals games will take place.

McInnes, who may be playing his last game at Shark Park against Melbourne, noted that players are accustomed to the NRL making rule changes unexpectedly. He highlighted concerns about the ongoing adjustments to the game, including recent changes to kick-off rules and inconsistencies in officiating, which he believes complicate the game for players and referees alike.
