Crosby Salon Staff Trained to Identify Domestic Abuse Victims
Staff at Jaz Hair, a salon in Crosby, Sefton, are receiving training to identify signs of domestic abuse in clients. This initiative is in partnership with SWACA, a local charity dedicated to supporting victims of domestic abuse.
Salon owner Kim emphasized the importance of creating a safe space for women facing difficult situations, noting that hairdressers and beauty therapists often hear about clients' issues. The training will help staff recognize subtle indicators of abuse, such as changes in demeanor or increased stress.
SWACA, established in 1974, aims to empower victims by providing support and resources. CEO John Williams highlighted the collective responsibility of society in addressing domestic abuse. Kim expressed hope that this initiative could expand throughout the region, aiming to make a significant impact in the community.
