Crystal Palace Faces Lyon in Europa League Match

Crystal Palace is set to play against Lyon in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening at the Groupama Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 5:45 PM BST. This match holds special significance for Crystal Palace's manager, Pierre Sage, who previously managed Lyon.

Sage, who led Lyon to safety from relegation in 2024, returns to his former club as both teams aim for their second consecutive win in the league phase. Palace recently secured a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, showcasing their improving form with four wins and one draw in their last six matches.

Lyon, however, is facing challenges after a recent 2-1 loss to Lens, which has affected their standing in Ligue 1. They will be without striker Loïs Openda due to a fractured fibula, while Nicolás Tagliafico is also sidelined with an injury. Despite these setbacks, Lyon aims to build on their opening Europa League win against Anderlecht.
