Crystal Palace has bolstered its squad for the upcoming European campaign by acquiring U.S. youth international Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake in a record transfer deal.
The 19-year-old winger signed a five-year contract late Monday, with the transfer fee reported to be $15 million. Real Salt Lake confirmed that they will retain a significant percentage of any future transfer fee for Gozo, who is noted as the first player from Utah to join a Premier League club.
Crystal Palace is set to begin its Premier League season against Everton on Saturday and will also compete in the Europa League. Meanwhile, Brighton has secured forward Promise David on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise, and Leeds has signed veteran defender Nico Elvedi from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
