Cubs Activate Edward Cabrera from Injured List
The Chicago Cubs have activated right-handed pitcher Edward Cabrera from the 15-day injured list, allowing him to start today's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. This move comes as the Cubs aim to strengthen their rotation during a crucial playoff push.
Cabrera had been sidelined since June 24 due to a left hamstring strain and has made three rehabilitation appearances in the minors. He recorded 11 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings at Triple-A and followed that with seven strikeouts in five scoreless innings at Double-A Knoxville.
In his first season with the Cubs, Cabrera has struggled, posting a 5.10 ERA over 14 starts, significantly higher than his 3.53 ERA from the previous year with the Marlins. The Cubs, currently holding the top NL Wild Card spot, hope Cabrera can improve his performance as they continue their playoff campaign.
