Cubs Hire Steve Miller as International Scouting Vice President
The Chicago Cubs are preparing to hire Steve Miller, who previously served as the international scouting director for the Tampa Bay Rays, as their new vice president of international scouting.
Miller began his career in scouting with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2006 and joined the Rays in 2013, where he was promoted to the top international scouting position in 2019. His hiring follows recent changes within the Cubs' scouting department, including the reassignment of former VP Louie Eljaua and veteran official Alex Suarez.
This move comes after the Cubs' international scouts successfully contributed to significant trades at the recent deadline, including the exchange of infield prospect Jefferson Rojas and catcher Moisés Ballesteros for established players.
