Cubs Re-Sign Gabe Klobosits to Minor League Contract

The Chicago Cubs have secured right-hander Gabe Klobosits with a new minor league contract, marking his return for a second season with the team.

Klobosits previously posted a 3.51 ERA and a 26.9% strikeout rate over 33 1/3 innings with the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa last year. This contract follows his time in independent leagues, as he had not participated in affiliated baseball since 2023.

A 36th-round draft pick by the Nationals in 2017, Klobosits has faced challenges throughout his career, including Tommy John surgery and a canceled minor league season in 2020 due to the pandemic. He has a career 4.09 ERA and has primarily served as a reliever, with limited appearances as an opener.
