Cymru Premier: Caernarfon Town Wins Opener Against Nomads
Caernarfon Town achieved a comeback victory, winning 2-1 against Connah's Quay Nomads in their opening match of the Cymru Premier.
Mikey Stone initially put the Nomads ahead with a free-kick in the 27th minute. Despite a chance to extend their lead, a header from Hussein Mehasseb was cleared off the line. Caernarfon equalized shortly before the hour mark with a penalty from Sion Bradley after a handball. Zack Clarke, who joined from The New Saints, scored the winning goal from the edge of the area with 19 minutes remaining.
In another match, The New Saints, last season's champions, were held to a goalless draw by Penybont. The Saints were looking to recover after their recent exit from the UEFA Conference League. Despite several attempts, including a crucial save by Penybont's goalkeeper Dan Higgs, they could not find the back of the net.
