Earnhardt mentioned that he has been in contact with the writer developing the story, likely Will Staples, and has participated in discussions about NASCAR to aid in the film's authenticity. He recalled meeting with the writer at his property, where they talked about various aspects of racing.

During the podcast, Earnhardt also reflected on his past encounters with Tom Cruise, including a recent meeting at Daytona International Speedway. He expressed enthusiasm for the film, emphasizing the importance of connecting it to the original Days of Thunder while incorporating new elements. Days of Thunder 2 is set to be released on June 2, 2028.
