Dale Jarrett and Jeff Burton Criticize Carson Hocevar's Racing Conduct

Following the Southern 500, Dale Jarrett and Jeff Burton voiced their concerns regarding Carson Hocevar's conduct on the racetrack. Hocevar, a 23-year-old driver from Portage, Michigan, made contact with Brad Keselowski, resulting in a spin that he did not seem to regret.

During the race, Hocevar nudged Keselowski into the wall and then hit him again, causing the No. 6 Ford to spin. In a post-race interview, Hocevar remarked that his actions were for entertainment purposes, which did not sit well with Burton and Jarrett. Burton emphasized the importance of acknowledging mistakes in racing and criticized Hocevar's dismissive attitude.

Jarrett added that Hocevar's approach could lead to negative repercussions from other competitors. Both analysts also directed their criticism towards Spire Motorsports and its owner, Jeff Dickerson, for not addressing Hocevar's behavior. They noted that while Hocevar has a long-term contract with the team, the lack of accountability could have consequences in the competitive environment of NASCAR.
