Dallas Cowboys Face Salary-Cap Challenges with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens

The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for potential salary-cap challenges regarding their star wide receivers, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, as they look ahead to the 2027 NFL season. Lamb recently signed a four-year contract worth $136 million, while Pickens is set to play under a franchise tag valued at approximately $27.3 million for the 2026 season.

During a recent podcast, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones acknowledged the difficulties of maintaining both players at market value in the future. He noted that while the team has managed to keep them for the current season, the prospect of both players having successful years could complicate matters next year.

Jones also mentioned that if Pickens performs well, the team might consider a trade involving Lamb before the 2027 NFL Draft. Pickens, who had an impressive first season with 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, is expected to seek a long-term contract if he continues to excel, adding pressure on the Cowboys to navigate their wide receiver situation carefully.
