Dallas Cowboys Re-sign Emari Demercado to 53-Man Roster
The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed running back Emari Demercado to their 53-man roster, providing the team with additional depth in the backfield. This decision comes shortly after the Cowboys waived him on October 8 to accommodate the return of offensive lineman Tyler Smith from injured reserve.
Demercado has participated in two games this season, accumulating five carries for 15 yards. He was inactive for the previous two games before his waiver, which means his return does not guarantee an immediate increase in playing time.
This move offers the Cowboys more options behind starting running back Javonte Williams as they manage the challenges of the NFL season. Demercado, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2023, has shown potential in the past, notably rushing for 312 yards in 2025. However, his limited opportunities with Dallas have not yet solidified his role in the team's offensive strategy.
