Dallas Cowboys Restructure Contracts, Eye Maxx Crosby Trade

The Dallas Cowboys have restructured three veteran contracts, creating over $19 million in salary cap space ahead of the 2026 season. This move has increased their total available cap room to over $30 million, prompting renewed speculation about a trade for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

ESPN reported that the Cowboys adjusted contracts for defensive tackle Kenny Clark, cornerback DaRon Bland, and tight end Jake Ferguson. These changes allowed the team to convert base salaries into signing bonuses, providing the flexibility to take on a significant veteran contract.

Maxx Crosby, who has a base salary of $30 million for 2026, has been a long-term target for the Cowboys. Despite previous trade offers being rejected by the Raiders, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones indicated that discussions about Crosby remain relevant, although he acknowledged Crosby's strong ties to the Raiders. While Jones does not anticipate a trade at this moment, he has not completely ruled it out.
