Dalton Rushing Faces Season Threat Due to Elbow Injury
Dalton Rushing, the backup catcher for the Dodgers, has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the UCL in his right elbow. This injury was revealed by manager Dave Roberts during a podcast appearance.
Rushing was placed on the 10-day injured list due to what was initially described as elbow inflammation. Following the diagnosis, Roberts indicated that Rushing will be unable to throw for an estimated 4-6 weeks, although he will continue to hit during this period.
This injury raises significant concerns for the Dodgers as they approach the postseason, especially with starting catcher Will Smith currently on the 60-day injured list due to a neck issue, despite resuming baseball activities.
