Dalton Rushing Returns to Injured List with Elbow Discomfort
Dalton Rushing has been placed back on the injured list due to discomfort in his right elbow, retroactive to September 5. This follows his activation on September 1 after recovering from a partial UCL tear.
Rushing experienced a flare-up while throwing before a game against the Washington Nationals, leading to his removal from the lineup. His absence is significant for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as he was expected to contribute as a left-handed power bat off the bench.
This season, Rushing has recorded a .249 batting average with a .798 OPS, including 12 home runs and 36 RBIs. Manager Dave Roberts noted that imaging revealed the throwing motion aggravated Rushing's previous injury. While his return to catching duties is ruled out, the team remains hopeful he can return as a hitter later in the season.
