Dalton Smith to Defend WBC Title Against Alberto Puello in Sheffield
Dalton Smith is set to defend his WBC light-welterweight title against Alberto Puello in Sheffield on Saturday, October 24. This marks Smith's first title defense since he won the championship by defeating Subriel Matias in New York earlier this year.
The fight was initially scheduled for June but was postponed due to Smith's training injury. Smith, who is undefeated with 19 wins, including 14 by knockout, faces the experienced Puello, a former WBA and WBC champion with a record of 25 wins and one loss.
The event will take place at the Utilita Arena, with ringwalks expected around 22:00 BST. The undercard features several bouts, including Giorgio Visioli against Maxi Hughes for the vacant WBC International Silver lightweight title.
